The Utah Association of Local Health Departments is a collaborative organization of the twelve local health departments in Utah. Their purpose is to protect and promote the public's health. Local Health Departments are governed by boards of health. There are 115 volunteers appointed by elected officials throughout the state. Their statewide organization is the Utah Association of Local Boards of Health. They are great advocates for protecting the public's health. There are twelve departments who cover the entire state. There are six multi-county districts and six single county districts. They are funded primarily from county contributions and fees of local citizens.
